Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is used to restore one or more missing teeth back to full form and function. London based Cosmetic Dentistry Clinic are proud to offer the highest quality bridges to replace teeth and restore your smile.

What are the benefits of bridges?

What types of bridges are available?

Traditional bridges

The most common type of bridge, traditional bridges require crowns to be placed on either side of the missing tooth or teeth.

Cantilever bridges

When there are adjacent teeth on only one side of the missing tooth or teeth, a cantilever bridge is used instead of a traditional one.

Maryland bonded bridges

This restoration is made of plastic teeth and gums. It’s bonded to the teeth with the help of strong metal wings on either side of the bridge.

What does treatment involve?

At your initial consultation with Cosmetic Dentistry London Clinic, your highly qualified dentist will assess your suitability for dental bridges. Bridges may be bonded to natural teeth or dental implants on either side of the missing teeth. These natural teeth or implants are termed abutments, and function to support the dental bridge. Replacement teeth are then attachment the abutments.

Once your treatment has been planned, your abutment teeth will be prepared at your next appointment. Your dentist will use the highest expertise to remove a small amount of the enamel to make room for the crown. Impressions of your teeth will then be taken to help craft your bridge and crowns. In the meantime, you will be fitted with a temporary bridge to protect the exposed teeth and gums.

At your next appointment, the permanent bridge will be fitted and adjusted as necessary, so it fits comfortably in your mouth. In some cases, the bridge may need extensive adjustment so further appointments will be needed. Your bridge will be made to look as natural as possible with either porcelain or ceramic materials to match the shade of your existing teeth.

How long do they last?

With correct care, dental bridges can last five to fifteen years and longer.

What aftercare do they require?

The most important thing you can do to protect your bridge is practice a good oral care routine. Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day, and floss to get rid of plaque and debris between the teeth. You must also attend regular checkups with your dentist and hygienist to ensure your dental health.

How much do they cost?

The cost of your bridge will depend on your individual case. One of our highly regarded dentists will discuss the cost of your treatment with you at your initial consultation. To help with the cost, we offers patients 0% interest finance and affordable monthly payment plans.
