How Do Fastbraces Work?

Posted on:  27th May 2016

Orthodontics has come a long way from the days when traditional braces was all it had to offer. Now techniques like Invisalign are what people want especially if the thought of having their teeth corrected virtually invisibly appeals. We are asked more and more often about Fastbraces treatment at our cosmetic dentistry London clinic.

The Mechanics

After two decades of testing Fastbraces are now becoming more widely available. The idea behind this treatment is that the root and crown of a misaligned tooth is pulled gently to the new desired position. Using flexibility and force the tooth will be moved with the use of a bracket that is elbow shaped. Traditional braces used a formidable selection of wires to do the job but with the Fastbraces way the root is manipulated into the new position from the very first day of treatment.

The Timeframe

Treatment with Fastbraces will be accomplished much quicker than it would be with traditional orthodontic treatments with metal braces. This is why this system appeals to so many people to whom the thought of spending years having their teeth straightened was just too daunting. The system equally appeals to children and teenagers who do not relish entering their teenage yeas with the prospect of a long time to be spent wearing braces. The traditional methods would often take two years. The reason for this was that the crown was moved first and then the root would take some time to catch up with the changes, so the whole time was effectively doubled.

With the Fastbraces™ technology the crown and the root move together so that treatment time can be halved and the whole treatment completed within a year and in some cases that are not very complicated treatment can be completed in just a few months.

The Benefits

Fastbraces treatment in London is absolutely as safe and effective as the traditional treatments that we all know about. If you are being treated with Fastbraces then there will be fewer visits to see you dentist to check on how things are going. This will be a saving of both time and of money. Another of the drawbacks with traditional braces is that it can be difficult to clean the teeth while they are being worn and this can lead to the risk of tooth decay. With Fastbraces, this risk is reduced considerably.
